CSSI Promotes Four Senior-Level Executives Three From Maryland, One Virginian PromotedWashington, DC -- CSSI, Inc., a Washington, DC-based engineering and technical services company focused on the transportation industry, has promoted four senior managers to the position of director. The directors will oversee operations and business development in their specific business areas. Nils van den Beemt, who has been employed at CSSI since 1994 and has worked in project management for over 20 years, has been named Director of Program Engineering and Management Services. Mr. van den Beemt's business unit is in charge of several large technical and administrative contracts with Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Defense. He received his BS from Villanova University and his MBA from the College of William and Mary. He resides in Gaithersburg, MD. John Markey has been promoted to Director of Information Management. In this position, Markey oversees a group of software engineers, web page developers, senior program analysts and electronics technicians involved in the Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) programs. An employee with CSSI since 1995, Mr. Markey previously worked at Verity, MiTech and the Federal Aviation Administration. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and resides in Columbia, MD. David Barstow, a 30-year veteran of the aviation engineering and technical services disciplines, has been named Director of System Engineering. He and his staff work with several federal government clients on requirements development; system design, training, testing and implementation; configuration management; and, procedures development. Mr. Barstow graduated with his BA from the University of Southern New Hampshire and his MS in Aviation Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He lives in Centreville, VA. Robert Miller is CSSI's new Director of Airspace Analysis and Modeling. Mr. Miller's business unit works on airport capacity analysis, aircraft separation reduction, air facilities modeling, airspace operations analysis, and airspace safety and risk assessment projects. Before being appointed to this position, Mr. Miller oversaw the company's Aircraft Separation Standards Group, a portion of his current division. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and obtained his MS from George Washington University. Miller is a resident of Annapolis, MD.
