CSSI Awarded Contract to Maintain and
Enhance Work to be Performed in New Orleans and Washington, DC
The Naval Reserve Web Site (http://reserves.navy.mil) currently centralizes and links more than 3000 different organizations and 680 geographically dispersed Web sites related to the U.S. Naval Reserve. The site provides easily accessible content and information to Naval Reservists worldwide. “This new contract expands on the previous work we’ve done, and continue to do, for the Naval Reserves, through the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR),” said John Markey, Director of Information Management at CSSI. “That work, which we began in 2002, has earned high praise from all involved, both for the quality of the work itself and for our focus on customer service.” CSSI will maintain the web site’s staging environment, complete structural changes to the system, develop online surveys and establish “Communities of Interest” on the web portal “Navy Knowledge Online.” Development of the Naval Reserve web site was at one time the largest Content Management Server (CMS) project ever undertaken by the Department of Defense. The original project team included SPAWAR, CSSI and Microsoft. Under the new contract, CSSI will provide the Naval Reserves a centralized web content management solution. This will allow Naval Reservists in charge of individual Command web sites to create and maintain their sites without having a technical background in web site development or management. The technical and support work will be performed in New Orleans, and program management at CSSI’s national headquarters in Washington, DC. ### Founded in 1990, CSSI, Inc., is an engineering and technical services company specializing in systems analysis and engineering, airspace initiatives, and information and program management. Clients include the international and U.S. aviation industry, the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, and the Department of Defense.
