Sharpening the Focus as the PMO Delivers Results

Client:  Department of Navy Meteorological and Oceanic (METOC) Integrated Project Team comprised of 14 government and 11 contract support personnel managing 129 fielded weather systems ashore and afloat.

Challenge:  To manage a highly complex project with status and action items too large to accomplish within budget and on time, resulting in execution inefficiency and disorganization.

Solution: CSSI employed its advance program management expertise to introduce Lean-Agile project management methods to manage the project and set mutually agreed upon objectives that broke large tasks into smaller actions; employees were able to complete the smaller actions in two week iterations.

Outcome:  There have been a number of improvements since implementation, including higher rate of task completion, better focus on the task, as well as quicker delivery and greater value.
