Chief Talent Officer Denise Watters Recognized by HRLA

Washington, DC – Denise Watters, Chief Talent Officer at CSSI, was recently named a finalist in the Human Resources Leadership Awards for the Greater Washington Area.

Watters was recognized in the Leadership Award category for organizations with less than 1,000 employees. The Leadership Award honors a senior human resources professional whose influence and leadership enables their organization to achieve improved business performance.

Among other things, Watters was commended for her three-pronged approach to overhauling CSSI’shuman resources department and refining its mission to better serve the organization by focusing on talent, technology, and developing a culture of training and learning.

The Human Resources Leadership Awards are the only independent awards that promote and advance excellence in the HR profession in the greater Washington, DC area. Established in 2001, the Awards celebrate outstanding service and strategic vision in the areas of organizational leadership, risk-taking, innovation, vision, communication, service to the broader community, and commitment to ethical behavior.

Watters joined CSSI in 2009. At CSSI, she oversees strategic human resources initiatives and business operations. Her responsibilities include recruitment, retention, performance management, compensation,incentive plans and corporate communications. She also oversees benefits, training and development and employee morale and welfare.

Watters holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
