CSSI Key Member of Team Nominated for Aviation Week Laureate Award

Washington, DC – CSSI, Inc., a leading provider of transportation and mobility solutions to government and commercial clients, was a key member of a team named as a finalist for the prestigious Aviation Week Laureate Award in the Civil Aviation category.
The team, under the direction of the Federal Aviation Administration, was nominated for its work on the Houston Metroplex airspace design. According to the FAA, the airspace improvements that occurred as a result of the project resulted in a reduction of distances flown by as much as 648,000 nautical miles annually. The improvements also save up to three million gallons of fuel and reduce carbon emissions by as much as 31,000 metric tons each year. CSSI employees contributed their time and expertise for the duration of the project – from 2012 through 2014.
The Laureate Awards honor those who exemplify the values and visions of the global aerospace industry. Other categories include defense, space, business aviation, technology and innovation. The winners of the awards will be announced at an event at the National Building Museum in Washington on March 5.
